Itch!

Mummy is relieved to see Xuan recovering from eczema. Xuan has been scratching and scratching badly for the past 2 to 3 weeks. Itching Itching!

Eczema. A trouble word for Xuan and mummy. Xuan's eczema flare out badly about 2 weeks ago. Mummy could not trace to what could Xuan be allergy to. As a precaution, Mummy kept away all my flurry soft toys away. Oh.. Xuan misses mickey and minnie mouse.

Xuan could not stop scratching. Mummy feels so heartpain to see Xuan scratching so badly. Redness, coarse skin, broken skin. Haiz... Mummy understand that eczema can cause itchness beyond description and it is very tough not to scratch. Intensive moisturising, cold compresses... all are done to relieve the itch. Internet research for remedy were also done. We have also read that 1 in 5 children has this allergy problem. Haiz... Hopefully Xuan will outgrow eczema as I grow up.

Xuan visited Auntie Dr Toh last Monday. We studied the possible causes but could not narrow to any. Xuan was given some syrup to relieve itch and some cream to apply. Auntie Dr Toh is very nice and has been exchanging emails with mummy after our consultation answering our concerns and to check on Xuan's recovery.

Hope eczema will stay far far away from Xuan soon!


Xuan having fun while waiting for our turn to see auntie Dr Toh. Auntie Dr Toh said that Xuan is a good girl. I follow auntie Dr Toh's instruction as she asked me to lie down, sit up, stretch out my arm for her to check.


Xuan is now 15.5kg and stands at 98cm tall at 25 month old!

New Hobby!

Xuan has a new hobby! Draw and colour! hehehe..



By the way, mummy said that she did lie on tummy to write when she was small too! hahaha..

Sweet and mischievous

Xuan has been both a sweet girl as well as a little naughty one too over the past 3 weeks when mummy started her maternity leave.

Mummy said that Xuan is really sweet when I listen. Like a little angel to mummy and papa! Xuan will cuddle with mummy and papa, sit on mummy and papa's lap, kiss and hug mummy and papa, play toys with mummy and papa, colour and write with mummy and papa. So sweet that mummy and papa will not stop hugging and kissing me.

When Xuan gets cranky and mischievous, it gets mummy and papa really angry at times. :(

Mummy realised that Xuan will be up to lots of mischief when Xuan gets bored or when Xuan wants to get attention. Mummy realised that this is especially obvious in recent weeks with the arrival of didi. There are times when mummy and papa loses their patience, scolded and punished Xuan. Xuan cried. Mummy feels really gulity after a while. It seems to be a repeated circle these weeks.

Mummy pondered whether she has set too high expectation on Xuan. While Xuan looks like a big girl, Xuan is afterall only a 2 years old toddler. Mummy is already very thankful that Xuan is accepting didi arrival very well and dotes on didi a lot.

Mummy has reminded herself many times and promised not to scold Xuan unnecessary again unless Xuan gets really naughty (like going real near television, jumping on sofa and bed..). Actually, Xuan knew that mummy devoted a lot of attention and times to Xuan these few weeks but mummy, it is never enough ok. Mummy told papa that it is just challenging to divide attention and to cope with one baby in the arm and another toddler pulling mummy's pant in the house.

Xuan is happy that mummy has signed up twice weekly weekday classes at GUG from February onward for Xuan. Xuan and mummy would be able to spend quality time together! Just mummy and Xuan! After mummy's confinement, mummy has promised to bring Xuan out for activites. Beside attending classes together, we planned to go our girls' shopping, library, toy'rus, playground, gymboree.... Xuan and mummy are looking forward!

Appreciation

Xuan went shopping for a xmas gift for auntie Dr Thong (mummy's gynae) just before didi's arrival. Mummy is thankful to auntie Dr Thong for the delicate care and attention given during expecting Xuan 2 years ago as well as now didi. Mummy said that auntie Dr Thong is very "stylo" and mummy likes her sense of dressing! hahaha... Auntie Dr Thong is always ready to offer her professional advice during consultation and whenever mummy email her, even on aside pregnancy issue. Auntie Dr Thong said that she always enjoys the small talks and chats with papa on finance and economic issues at our every consultation. With her steady hands and experience, mummy is well assured of a safe delivery. So we are determined to show our appreciation this xmas.

Looking back at 2008.

It is 1 January 2009. The last 2008 has been a up and down year for the family.

Mummy shares with Xuan her inner thoughts.

March 2008. Mummy and papa were happy to learnt that we will be expecting a sibling for Xuan. It came earlier than expected. Mummy has just started her new employment and she is thankful that the company has a family oriented environment.

March to April 2008. Mummy had bad morning sickness and has to take several days off to rest at home. The days of giddiness and nausea still remain fresh in mummy's mind.

Late september to November 2008. Our beloved Ah Zuo were admitted into hospital due to respiratory difficulty. Tough month for mummy and the whole family. Days were ups and downs as ah Zuo's condition were not stable. Days were never as scary for mummy. Every phone ring brings hopes and as well as fears.

10 November 2008. Mummy lost ah Zuo to heaven. A painful departure. Words could not describe the sadness and how much mummy miss ah Zuo. Ah Zuo will always be deep in mummy's heart.

22 December 2008. Arrival of Ning Kai didi! A final relief for mummy as mummy sees the safe delivery of didi. Mummy said Ah Zuo gave her strength when she endured the pain while delivering didi.

December 2008. Perspiration, stickiness, hot soup, lots of ginger, wine, breast feeding, constant diaper changing... what better words to describe confinement.

31 December 2008. Mummy misses Ah Zuo. Mummy is thankful of what she has. A pair of princess and prince. A doting husband. Close harmony sibling relationship with jiujius. A stable family oriented working environment...

May 2009 brings us more brights of hopes.
