School holiday library visit!
Xuan was not idling at home watching tv last week school holiday! In fact, Xuan had a good time in school enjoying a week of "Book Week".
Xuan's school has planned a week of school holiday for me and my friends. We had a break from the usual routine and instead, we had a good time redecorating our school library corner. The teachers have even asked for some volunteers from mummies and papa to go to my school as mystery readers, as a surprise to us.
The most anticipating and exciting event of the week is the library visit. Xuan and friends went to the nearby library for a guided tour and Xuan borrowed 2 books home of my choice, with the help of my teacher! Xuan and friends also joined a session of story telling in the library. When we were back to school in the afternoon, we had a good time designing our own individual library bag and a bookmark. :D

Xuan is happy with the books that I have chosen.

Happy 3 years and 4 months
Xuan is 3 years and 4 months today.
Mummy and papa wish that Xuan will be healthy and happy. Just in case, Xuan is still recovering from coughing now.
Sometimes, mummy wonders why Xuan is so prone to running nose, coughing which can then lead to wheezing…! According to PD, Xuan (and didi) have inherited sinus genes from mummy and papa. However, mummy and papa’s sinus is a common sinus which doesn’t amount to be classified as “serious”. Anyway, this sinus has led to Xuan to have more sensitive airway which can get infected easily, thus leading to wheezing. Sometime, mummy is totally frustrated with feeding medicine and medicine. So sad. So heartpain to be drowning Xuan with syrup after syrup. Dr Toh keeps encouraging and ensuring that it will get better and mummy will be able to see improvement as Xuan grows up and I will eventually grow out of it. In short, we just have to get over this phrase. And if so, PLEASE let this phrase be over sooner and smoother, PLEASE.
If otherwise, Xuan is a happy gal with a good height and build.

Hello Kitty sandwiches!
Mummy made these lovely mini Hello Kitty sandwiches for me to school last week, in addition to the fruit break from school. :D
Mummy promised to try out more interesting and lovely sandwiches. :)
Reading and writing
Mummy is glad that Xuan has been an avid reader since toddler. Reading before bedtime is a must and is a daily routine for Xuan before I allow mummy to off the light. Xuan has a big library collection of books at home. From the daily reading routine, Xuan is able to recognise more high frequency words now and is able to read the ladybird Peter and Jane book 1a and 1b quite well (not too bad to mummy) with some guidance. Xuan particularly likes books that relates to daily lifestyle and habits, eg. "The First Experience" by Usborne. This book includes titles such as, Going to dentist, Going to school, Going to party, Moving house"
Xuan has also started reading Chinese books. Mummy is very glad that Xuan likes and enjoys learning and speaking mandarin. For this, mummy feels that Wang laoshi in Xuan's school plays an important role. At 30months, Xuan is able to recite numerous chinese nurseries and now Xuan is learning to recognise Chinese words. Recently, mummy bought some chinese dvd for Xuan to watch and Xuan has been watching it everyday without fail.
Xuan: mummy, i want to watch the chinese dvd.
mummy: You have been watching it everyday. Do you want to others today?
Xuan: But mummy, i am a chinese girl right. So i watch chinese dvd!! (To mummy's shockness)
Recent nights, Xuan also starts to enjoy tracing and writing. Mummy is happy of the visible improvement. However, Xuan tends to be playful at time and didn't do a good job when I actually can. hehehe
Last week, Xuan brought back my folder of work and art pieces completed in school for Term 1. There are a lot of pieces including my calligraphy work when i learn to write the chinese "bi hua". Mummy noted that Xuan did not do as good job in tracing and colouring as I can do when I am at home. Mummy reminded Xuan to be more serious and focus when i am doing my work in school. Xuan tends to get distracted easily. :p
Xuan can now write more alphabets without the dotted line. It will get better with more practice.

Picking up 3rd language
Since Xuan started her pre-school last July, Xuan has picked up some simple Japanese such as "no, wait, hello, good morning and good bye...." in Japanese from her Japanese teacher and Japanese classmates! Xuan can now sing a few short simple Japanese nursery songs too. Xuan has even taught mummy, papa and ah ma how to sing.. :)
Mummy and papa enjoy hearing Xuan humming Japanese nursery songs... so cute!

拜年好开心
The 15 days of lunar Chinese New Year is over in a blink of an eye.
Xuan enjoyed herself in the Chinese New Year visitation! I got to eat lots of goodies everywhere I go! Rou Gan, jelly sweets, chocolates, crackers and many many more.. now what mummy has fear most has happened. I am now coughing after too much goodies... humm... it is okie. Xuan will get well soon! Once a year, who has the heart to stop Xuan from enjoying the delicious goodies! hehehe :p I still remember that er jiujiu and xiao jiujiu kept tempting me with more and more goodies and foods while reminding me of my protruding tummy out of my cheongsam..ai yo...

We tried taking a family photo using the tripod but it was unsuccessful. Mummy and papa also tried taking photos for didi and me but my active didi kept crawling away and we didn't get a good shot too.. hahhaa
