Xuan will start my Nursery 2 class tomorrow morning 6/1/2010.
In this coming year, let’s wish that Xuan will have a fun learning year ahead. This year, Xuan has also moved up from the weekly 1 hr Speech and Drama class to 2 hours English enrichment class in Lorna Whiston. As Xuan is in N2 now, it will be an unaccompanied class from this year onwards.
Last Saturday, Xuan started my 1st English enrichment class. Mummy thought that Xuan will be alright without mummy. But Xuan broke down, crying for mummy 5 minutes shortly after the class started. The teachers assured mummy that Xuan will be fine after 1 or 2 class and not to worry too much. Xuan has been doing well in her daily preschool. Give Xuan a little more time to get to know my new teacher and friends and I think I should be fine.
Even though Xuan cried now and then in the lesson time, Ms Boremann told mummy that Xuan shared with everyone in the class on her Hong Kong trip, about Disneyland and that Xuan’s favourite colour is red. When Ms Boremann pointed to the letter N, Xuan raised her hand and said, “N is for Ning Xuan!” Mummy could tell that Xuan wanted to join in the fun in the class very much but also wanted mummy with her at the same time. Mummy is sure that Xuan will be fine to be by herself by the 2nd or 3rd lesson. Most importantly, Xuan is elated to receive a new school bag from the school!
Mummy has shifted Xuan to the English enrichment class cos Xuan’s interest seemed to have shifted. Morever, Xuan has Speech and Drama class in her daily preschool. So perhaps, there is no need for repetition. In this English enrichment class, there is a theme each week where a range of vocabulary and expression is focus on. Little children are encouraged to speak and share with everyone on their own experiences. Every week, Xuan will also be given a story book to be brought back to read with mummy and papa so that everyone can share the story with the class in the following week class. Beside that, there is pre-nursery writing and colouring practice.
Mummy and papa hope that Xuan will soon love her new class, teacher and friends.
