1st Family Farms visit

2 Sundays ago, we went for our 1st family farm visits. Initially, our agenda was only to visit the Hay Dairy Goat Farm and the Jurong Frog Farm. However, papa decided to check-out the many Fish farms nearby as well since we have travelled all the way to Lim Chu Kang. Fortunately, we did that cos Xuan and didi have so much fun catching and feeding fishes! :D

From the visit, we get the chance to see goat milking sessions. We walked round the goat farm looking at the many goats and their babies. All of them are enclosed in a relatively small enclosure. When we were there, they were let out batch by batch for the morning milking session. The farm is not too big but it is very clean and well organised.

Before we venture to the frog farm, we had some quick breakfast fix in the car! Our favourite cheesy sausage bun. :)

Next, we ventured to the Frog farm 2 lanes down. This is the 1st time that we saw so many frogs at one go. We had the chance to get some frog feeds to feed the frogs too! We walked around and saw some really big and fat tadpoles, small froglets and of course, big frogs! In short, we see the whole life cycle of the frog in one of the enclosed water place. When didi saw the frogs, he exclaimed, "frogs ribbit ribbit!"

As it was still pretty early and since we have travelled all the way to Lim Chu Kang, papa studied the map and decided that we shall visit another farm. Xuan asked for cow farm but it was pretty out of the way from where we were. We eventually decided on fish farms. Thanks to the papa’s idea. Fortunately, we went there cos Xuan and didi had a great experience and fun time catching and feeding fishes. :D

Till today, didi is still having fresh memory of his frog and fish feeding experience that he is talking about “Kai feeds fish.” “Papa mummy, go frog farm again.” :D

Start of Holiday Programme!

School holiday is here but Xuan is not idling at home. :)

Thanks to the holiday programme from school, Xuan will be having a fun time in the coming 4 weeks! Xuan looks so much forward to the holiday programme that she kept talking about it too. It also saves mummy's headache of thinking what activities to arrange to keep Xuan occupied for the 4 weeks at home. This is especially so when mummy needs to save her leave for PV work.

Xuan will be in total immersion in Chinese in the 1st 2 weeks of the holiday. According to the programme line-up from school, the Chinese Camp will be introducing the Chinese culture and wonder of the language to the children through drama, music, games, arts and crafts, poetry, outdoor activities. It sounds fun and so enriching. Hopefully, Xuan's fluency in Mandarin speaking will be further reinforce after these 2 weeks of total Chinese programme. :)

The 3rd week of the holiday will be Positive Focus English Speech and Drama Camp. There is going to be emphasis in building confidence, creativity and expression in the children through various tools of drama.

The 4th week is going to be even more interesting where Xuan and friends will be introdued to the various countries foods and cooking in school. The highlight of the week is an invited excursion to parents to a cooking excursion at an Italian restaurant at Robertson Quay. Xuan and friends will be preparing a dish with the help of mummy and the whole cooking will be guided by the Italian Chef of the restaurant. Yeay! How exciting! :D Xuan keeps talking about the excursion and reminding mummy and papa to sign the consent form and the cheque for the excursion payment. We are very sure that it is going to be a very fun and unforgetable experience! Perhaps mummy should start to look for a mummy-daughter matching aprons (just in case the restaurant does not provide for it.. hehehe).

Papa's birthday!

On 19 May 2011, We celebrated papa's 35th birthday! After my class, Xuan and mummy went to pick a cake for papa. Xuan was excited and took a while to decide on the cake. :) We eventually picked a pretty fruit layer cake.

We have a lot of candles to put.. hehe..

Singing birthday song!

Sweet Xuan gave papa a kiss immediately after the song!

Let's cut together!

With papa a very happy 35th birthday. Good health, Good luck and happiness follow papa always.

Balloon lover

All children love balloons and Xuan is not an exception. Whenever, we see people distributing balloons at shopping malls, Xuan and didi will insist on going forward to ask for one. Our record was home with 4 balloons in our hands. It certainly looked like we just attended a birthday party. hahaha

Trying balloon sculpting.. .. :p

See how i shake..

A couple of weeks ago when we were at toyrus, Xuan had a good time shaking and twisting my body with the hula hood.

Working hard with the hula hood!

Mummy's night-out

Mummy went for her very rare night-out after work to catch up with some old friends about 2 weeks ago. The last night-out was about 5 months ago..Guess what happen?

At 8pm, Xuan started asking for mummy. According to ah ma, Xuan was apparently very sad that mummy was still not home yet when the sky has turned dark. In fact, mummy has gave Xuan and didi a call before meeting her friends, telling us that she will be home later the night. Soon, Xuan started to sob.. :<

Xuan asked to call mummy:

Xuan: Mummy! where are you? Why are you still not home?
Mummy: I am having dinner with my friends. My friends have something to tell me.
Xuan: What did they want to tell you? Why did you need to talk to your friends for so long?
Mummy: I will be home very soon ok.
Xuan: No mummy, can you come home now? **sounding really really sad**

Sounds so much like a mother questioning a daughter of her late return. 15 years later, mummy lamented that it will most probably be the reverse situation.

When mummy was back at about 10pm, Xuan and didi were already asleep together with papa.

Next morning when Xuan woke up, Xuan complained, "我一直等你,一直等,一直等, 一直等, 你没有回来." :p

Didi, on the other hand, woke up in the middle of the night when he realised that mummy was back. He was so happy and kept talking non-stop to mummy in the middle of the night **making up for the loss of time earlier on**. hahaha... :p

This is the 1st time Xuan was so emotion and sad of mummy's late return. Usually, Xuan will only just keeping asking for the time that mummy will be home. Anyway, mummy is touched to know that her 2 darlings look so much forward for her return to home everyday.
