We have a simple birthday celebration at home for dear papa on papa's birthday. Mummy bought a sweet strawberry cake! Before we cut the cake, Xuan even did a quick count of the number of strawberries on the cake correctly. :)
2 nights before papa's birthday, mummy gave Xuan some coloured papers and asked if Xuan would want to make a birthday card for papa! Xuan chose the sweet pinky paper happily but was unsure of what to draw and write for a while. With some probing from mummy, Xuan finally completed the card in 5 minutes. As Xuan is still young, Mummy did the writing on a separate piece of paper and Xuan will decide how she wanted to copy it and design on her card.
Simple but so sweet.
Mummy asked Xuan why the 2nd "pa" is so much longer than the 1st "pa". Xuan exclaimed that "that is because "papa is strong and big! so the "P" and "A" must be longer and bigger!" hahaha.. (well, children have every single valid reason for everything"). When mummy subsequently asked Xuan if she wants to draw a cake for papa, Xuan drew a small cake in the middle of the card and said, "papa just need a small cake. A small one" hahaha..
