HK Disneyland 2010 (part I)

Finally here to share our Hong Kong 2010 trip.. :)

This is going to be a lengthy post. Lots of stories to share for the 6 days of precious family time far from home. Lots of photos (papa took almost 1000 pictures in 6 days!!) to share. Lots of memories to pen down for Xuan and didi when we grow up.

Compared to 2007 tirip, we need 2 luggages now. Milk powder, diapers, thicker clothings for me and didi (5 days)…. :)Enough to fill up a considerable amount of space.. hehehe..

Days leading up to the holiday. Mummy began to share with Xuan on the planned holiday. Mummy feels that it is always good to inform children on the forecoming events so that we kiddos will have a mental preparation of what will take place thus leads to better behavior. The night before the holiday, Xuan and mummy even read our favourite Usborne book on “The first experience” on being on the plane. :D Xuan also asked to pack her 2 of favourite story books in the luggages. Thoughtful Xuan also made sure that she brought along didi’s favourite Humpty Dumpty book along.

Throughout the 6 days, Xuan has been a considerable good girl. Xuan is cooperative, independent, listen to instructions, and open to negotiation! Good Job! Although this is the 2nd time that Xuan is taking plane (the last time was when Xuan was only 11 months old), Xuan looks like a professional flyer. She only needed 1 time help in fastening the belt. Xuan needed not much help in finishing the food on board. Xuan self entertained by watching show, cartoon, looking out of window, taking snacks. No fuss. No complain. No trouble. Thumb up darling! On our way back, Xuan was already very aware of how to make herself comfortable. She finished her kid’s set meal, ask for orange juice, finished her own cup of ice-cream, put on headphone and enjoy cartoons. When Xuan was noticeably sleepy after all these activities, mummy suggested to Xuan to take a short nap and we will wake her up when we reached Spore. Xuan replied, “Don’t have to wake me up. Just carry me” and she zzzzZZZ… hahahaha….

Xuan was aware that we will be in a foreign land. We know no one. We need to be careful. Xuan is not allowed to wander. Not allow to run far from mummy and papa. And Xuan listened and remembered well throughout the trip. On the night when we were out for firework at Disneyland, mummy told Xuan that it was night time and dark, she has to stay close to papa and when it got crowded, papa will have to carry her for safety reason. And do you know that Xuan just simply cling on to papa the whole night. When papa’s arms got tired, Xuan still refused to come down and said, “papa, mummy said that you have to carry me!” And so papa mustered up all strength and muscle and carry our 20kg Xuan most of the time that night! Knowing that it is dark, even our almost 15kg didi clinged on to mummy through the night too. Although it was pretty tiring, mummy and papa felt assured and safe with both of us in their arms with the big crowd around.

To reward Xuan for her good behavior throughout the trip, Xuan was rewarded with most of the items that she liked and requested. Minnie mouse shade, Minnie mini umbrella, Toy story rocket-like tumbler, Minnie mouse cup, Minnie mouse mashmallow, Baby Mickey soft toys, Minnie mouse tees, Disney hairclips, yummy puddings, ice cream, ….. and of course the most beautiful Snow White dress with matching tiara and magic wand!

The whole trip is a relax and slow pace one. We are thankful that we didn’t have problem during meal time. Both Xuan and Kai self-feed themselves with some help to Kai. Papa just got to lay the food on the table and we seem to be a little army trained. Mummy and papa will try to finish as quick as they can so that they could turn their attention to us. We finished almost every meal in less than 30 minutes, the fastest being about 20 minutes. Hahaa.. reason is mummy and papa were not sure when didi will start to get impatient after his tummy is full. Hahaha…

We took our own sweet time to enjoy, walk and stroll round the parks and hotels, took the same rides more than once, sit around to snack at times, took lots of pictures, went back to hotel mid day for us to nap, wake up to enjoy free Disney channel, going back in the evening for firework…and of course SHOP at the many Disney merchandise shops that are definitely irresistable.
